Everyday calls
Call a repair service in Poland without speaking Polish
A leaking tap or broken washing machine can mean a difficult phone call in a new country. EVA can ask an eligible Polish service about coverage, a visit and costs while you keep control of the decision.
Make your first callThe washing machine is broken and the repair service only takes calls
Prepare the model, symptoms and district, and check with the landlord if necessary. Ask separately about travel, diagnosis, labour and parts. Do not describe a guessed diagnosis as a fact.
From an unanswered question to a useful next step
Illustrative scenario, not a real customer call. Prices, times and replies below are examples, not offers.
Your request
Ask whether the service covers my district, the diagnosis and travel fees and possible visit windows. Do not book a visit or approve repairs.
An example of the returned answer
The service covers the district and quoted 150 zł for diagnosis including travel. Parts and repair labour depend on inspection; no final repair price was given. A visit window was offered, not booked.
Your next step
Compare the stated visit charge and scope. Authorize a visit only after deciding on the conditions; the inquiry has not approved work or a payment.
Describe the problem, not a guessed diagnosis
Name the appliance or fixture, model if available, symptoms and when the problem started. Give the city and district first. Confirm permission with your landlord where needed; do not share door codes or unnecessary documents in a task.
Separate the visit fee from the repair price
Ask about travel, diagnosis, labour, parts, tax and any minimum charge. A technician may need an inspection before quoting a repair. Ask whether the visit fee is payable even if you decline the work; an estimate is not a fixed final price.
Set limits before arranging a visit
Ask for dates and the arrival window. For information only, say not to book or approve work. If you authorize a visit, state the acceptable call-out fee and time. New fees, parts, repair work or a contract require your decision rather than an open-ended instruction to fix everything.
Know when to contact urgent help yourself
EVA is for ordinary service inquiries. For gas smells, smoke, exposed live wiring or immediate danger, move to safety and contact the appropriate emergency service yourself. Do not wait for an assistant call.
Example inquiry — not a customer recording
Call the appliance service I selected in Kraków. My washing machine does not drain. Ask whether they serve my district, the diagnosis and travel fees, and available visit windows on my chosen date. Do not book, order parts or approve repairs.
Compare the scope as well as the price
Read which fees were confirmed, which depend on inspection, the service area and available times. Ask the provider directly about qualifications or warranties when relevant. An answered call is not proof that a repair was booked or completed.
